La vieille rue Terarken Gravure en Broderie

This highly detailed embroidery is an interpretation based on old photos and an old engraving by Chauvet published in Le tour du monde in the 19th century. The image was sewn by freehand machine embroidery. It gives an impression of how The Rue Terarken once was. The entrance to Arca Dei was at the bottom of the street on the right hand side. The artist imagines Victor Horta as young man walking along the street - perhaps a decade or so before he received the commission to build the Centre for Fine Arts.
